Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing-EMDR
Release stored trauma and reclaim your life.
According to a study published in the Journal of Traumatic Stress, 84%–90% of single-trauma victims no longer had PTSD after only 3 to 6 EMDR sessions (Shapiro, 1989).
What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy designed to help people heal from the emotional distress and psychological symptoms that come from disturbing life experiences.
Doesn't require you to talk in detail about the painful event.
Uses bilateral stimulation (such as guided eye movements, tapping, or sounds) while you focus briefly on the memory.
Helps your brain reprocess the memory in a way that reduces its emotional charge and allows you to integrate it more adaptively.
At its core, EMDR helps your brain do what it naturally wants to do — heal.
What Can EMDR Help Treat?
EMDR was originally developed to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and it remains one of the most effective treatments for trauma today. However, research and clinical practice have shown it can be highly effective for a wide range of challenges, including:
PTSD and complex trauma
Anxiety and panic disorders
Depression
Grief and loss
Phobias
Chronic pain
Performance anxiety (including work, athletics, and creative performance)
Low self-esteem and negative self-beliefs
Emotional dysregulation
Disturbing memories or flashbacks
